Two of the top political leaders in the St. Louis area have joined church leaders in asking the Legislature not to cut health care funding for the poor. St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and County executive Buzz Westfall join those protesting action in the Missouri House to cut $200-Million from the MC Plus for children program. The head of the Ethical Society of St. Louis, Don Johnson, says it is immoral to cut health insurance for those who need it the most.
