Chiefs running back Priest Holmes underwent arthroscopic surgery on his injured hip yesterday. Doctors say he should be fully recovered by the time training camp starts in August, though he’ll be inactive for four to six weeks. Holmes injured the hip in the Chiefs 14th game of the season. He finished with 1,615 yards rushing, which led the league at the time. He also set a Chief record with 24 touchdowns. If indeed he is ready to play, will he? Holmes has threatened a hold out if he doesn’t get a new contract. The Chiefs don’t plan on offering one.
