Missouri Scores Two Oscars At Academy Awards

Missouri has a couple of Academy Award winners. Kansas City native Chris Cooper has won the Oscar as best supporting actor for his work in the movie “Adaptation.” Cooper is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. His mother still lives in Kansas City. St. Joseph native Eminem – Marshall Mathers is his real name -has won the Academy Award for the song, “Lose Yourself” in his movie “8 Mile.” Mathers wrote the lyrics and is the co-composer with two others, who share the award with him.
