Cape Girardeau Airport In Danger Of Closing

Missouri’s only municipally-operated airport control tower is in danger of closing because of lack of money. The tower at the Cape Girardeau Airport usually has four air traffic controllers, but has been short one person for the last five months. The airport manager is asking the city to increase salaries to make it easier to hire and keep controllers. Because of the staff shortage, the tower is only operational ten hours a day.
