The Missouri women missed their first 18 shots but still found a way to win their opening round game of the WNI against Western Illinois 72-69. The Tigers bounced back after their dismal start with a 13-0 run to close the first half and went in the locker room tied at 20. It was tied at 55 at the end of regulation and locked at 66 after the first overtime. The Tigers held the Westerwinds to three points in the second OT to win it. The Tigers set a WNIT record with 22 steals. Karensa Barr had five assists to become Mizzou’s all-time leader. She also had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Evan Unrau had 20 points and 10 boards. MU advances to the second round where they’ll face the either Ball State or Indiana state.
