Lady Bears Back In Tourney

The SMS Lady Bears improbable run through the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament this weekend has put them in the NCAA Tournament. On Saturday night they won the MVC crown by beating second-seeded Indiana St. 75-70. On Friday, they upset top-seeded Creighton 80-71. Freshman Kari Koch was the tournament MVP. Jenni Lingor also made the first team. With the win, they got an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, where they will be the 15th seed in the Midwest. Their first game will be on the road on Sunday at second-seeded Texas Tech. It’s SMS’ 1th trip to the tournament in the last 13 seasons.
