SMS is still alive. The Lady Bears beat Drake 61-59 at the Missouri Valley Conference tourney in Des Moines. Kari Koch, who won the MVC’s Freshman of the Year award the day before, scored 10 of SMS’ final 14 points, finishing with 16. The Lady Bears will have quite a challenge today as they face top seeded Creighton. SMS and Creighton split their two regular season games with each team winning at home.
