This is the time of year when we’ll start to see dark storm clouds gathering on the horizon, and that’s why this week has been designated as Severe Weather Awareness Week in Missouri. State Emergency Management Agency Director Jerry Uhlmann says it’s a time when people can review their natural disaster preparedness. And he says the increased awareness against terrorism also helps the state be better prepared for natural disasters and vice versa. Uhlmann says make sure you have a few days worth of food and drinking water stored, as well as flashlights and battery-powered radios, just in case. And make sure everyone in your family knows what to do if a severe storm should strike.
