A State Senate committee is being asked to mull over a bill that would make menengitis vaccinations mandatory for students living on campus while attending the state’s colleges and universities. Senator Charlie Shields of St. Joseph is the sponsor. He believes vaccinations can eliminate a potential problem before it becomes reality. Shields says an outbreak usually causes panic and leads to a rush to get the vaccine and his proposal would prevent that panic.
