Governor Bob Holden is offering his thoughts on the decision by the Missouri House to overwhelmingly pass the conceal and carry bill. He doesn’t like it. And, he says if the Senate approves the same bill he’ll veto the legislation when it gets to his desk. Holden made the comments during a speech at a United Way conference in St. Louis. He says he doesn’t think it’s the right course of action as a society, adding this kind of proposal would be better decided in a statewide vote. Proposition B, a statewide concealed weapons initiative on the ballot in 1999, narrowly went down to defeat.
