An investigation is underway in Kansas City into whether firefighters there campaigned on city time. At-large council candidate Deb Hermann first brought the allegations to the city last week, complaining about a Web site of the Kansas City firefighters union. The site identified two firefighters as a contact for anyone who wanted to support the campaign of Hermann’s opponent: Joe Galetti, a retired fire captain. The Web site identified the firefighters by their station and shift schedule. City employees in Kansas City are prohibited from working on political campaigns.
