The Missouri Tigers’ road troubles continued in Ames, Iowa in a 71-55 loss to Iowa State. Mizzou shot 33% from the floor on Wednesday, as the Cyclones jumped out to an early 15-2 lead. After that, the Tigers tried to play catch up. Tim Barnes led the way for Iowa State with 24 points. Only two Tigers scored in double figures. Travon Bryant and Rickey Paulding had 18 points apiece. The Hilton Coliseum crowd was more emotional than usual. Earlier in the day, Pete Taylor who was the radio voice of the Cyclones for 33 years died at the age of 57. The Tigers missed a golden opportunity to take over sole possession of fourth place in the Big 12, as Oklahoma St. lost on the road to Colorado. Mizzou dropped to 18-8 overall and 8-6 in the Big 12.
