The Director of the Department of Natural Resources is telling one and all he is more than willing to appear before a legislative committee to answer questions regarding a memo that surfaced following a DNR meeting. The memo highlighted a reported order to DNR employees that they were not to help state lawmakers working on the budget crisis. Director Steve Mahfoud says DNR employees have always been available to answer lawmakers’ questions. As for the possibility of testifying before a committee, Mahfoud says that while he is willing and able, he would not order any subordinates to follow his lead.
