SMS topped Northern Iowa 52-51 on Senior Night in Springfield. Merrill Andrews made two free throws with nine seconds left to put the Bears ahead for good. A last second shot from UNI’s Ben Jacobson was off mark to seal it for SMS. Andrews finished with 16 points while Monwell Randle scored 10 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. The Bears ended the regular season with a 16-11 mark overall and a 12-6 record in conference play. SMS is the four seed in the MVC Tournament in St. Louis. They’ll face fifth-seeded Evansville on Saturday afternoon.
