The $600,000 given to his church by former Kansas City druggist Robert Courtney is being given to Courtney’s victims. Courtney claims he watered down chemotherapy drugs so he could make the money to give to the church for its building fund. But the minister at the Northland Cathedral, J. Lowell Harrup, has told the Kansas City Star that’s no way to build a church. The $600,000 will go into a fund for Courtney’s victims. One of the lawyers for Courtney’s victims calls the church’s decision “a tremendous testament to their faith.”
