Missouri already has 16 state symbols – from a flag to a fish. Now, State Senator Sarah Steelman wants two more – a state grass and an official state grape. She’s asking the Legislature also to designate Bluestem Grass as the official state grass. That’s an idea some fifth graders have asked her to push. And, she wants the Norton Grape to become the official state grape. She says the grape and the grass represent the good qualities of Missourians.
