Blues Top Oilers Thanks To Sanford

February 28, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Last night’s game began, much the same way a number of them have for the Blues. Edmonton took an early 1-0 lead with a goal at the 3:29 mark. But this time, the Blues battled back with offense and tight goal tending to top Edmonton 4-1. Rookie Curtis Sanford was able to stop every other shot he saw, finishing with 21 saves. Justin Papineau tied it in the second and the Blues took the lead in the 3rd with a goal from Dallas Drake. Pavol Demitra had three assists. The win allowed St. Louis to keep pace with first place Detroit who beat Toronto 7-2. The Blues trail by two points.
