Task Force Calls For More State Scrutiny In Possible Child Abuse Situations

February 27, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

A state task force says the state needs to more closely watch babies born into families with a history of abuse and neglect of children. The task force was put together by the Division of Family Services after a 12-week old girl died last month after being scalded in University City. Her father is charged with second degree murder. The report says the state does not have a policy about whether a child born into a family that already has lost a child to foster care should be allowed to keep the new baby.
