Tkachuk Suspended Four Games and Fined

February 26, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Keith Tkachuk’s point total won’t change for the next few days. The Blues leading goal scorer was suspended four games by the NHL yesterday for hitting the Wilds’ Wes Walz in the neck with his stick on Sunday. Tkachuk was also fined $487,804 for the infraction. He won’t be able to suit up until the Blues March 7 game against the Red Wings. Tkachuk leads the team with 28 goals and he also has 22 assists. The Blues will face the Oilers Thursday in St. Louis. Rookie Goalie Curtis Sanford will get the start as Brent Johnson and Fred Brathwaite watch from the bench.
