Missouri defensive end Nick Tarpoff apparently lied about an incident that resulted in him being shot in the arm. Police were called to Tarpoff’s home on Wednesday where he told them that he caught a man trying to steal his television. According to the original report, Tarpoff said there was a struggle and the burglar’s gun went off. Tarpoff recanted the story yesterday, saying he accidentally shot himself with his own gun. Last season he made 21 tackles and recorded one sack as a sophomore.
