Frontenac Gives Mayor $48,000 Pay Hike

February 20, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

How about a $48,000 a year raise? That’s what the mayor of Frontenac, a suburb of St. Louis, will be getting. Actually, the Mayor of Frontenac will be paid for the first time beginning in April, and so will its aldermen. Aldermen will get $450 a month and the mayor will receive $800 a month unless the mayor agrees to be mayor and city administrator. Then, the mayor gets the $48,000 salary. And that’s what newly elected Mayor Saundra Sobelman plans to do, taking on such duties as purchasing, budget preparation, supervising and record-keeping.
