Showdown time is coming in the State Senate on how much the Legislature will give Governor Bob Holden to plug a state budget hole. And, it appears unlikely the majority Republicans will give him all that he says he needs. The Senate expects to start final debate Wednesday on a plan to give the Govenror $150-Million. The Governor says he needs at least $232-Million, or else he’ll cut funding for public schools and colleges and universities. The House says $150-Million is its top figure. In the Senate, minority Democrats are pushing for more than $250-Million.
