West-Central Missouri Congressman Ike Skelton is urging the Bush Administration to push for a second resolution from the United Nations against Iraq. Skelton says Secretary of State Colin Powell made a compelling case before the United Nations Security Council, and now the US should use that to push for another UN resolution that would authorize force if Iraq fails to comply with orders to disarm. Skelton has been pressing the Administration to give the weapons inspectors in Iraq more time. And, he says that won’t interfere with war preparation. He points out the US hasn’t assembled all of its force in the Middle East yet, and can afford to give the weapons inspectors more time as it does so.
