Majority Republicans in the Legislature say they’ll give Governor Bob Holden about one third as much money as he says he needs to avoid more budget cuts in the last quarter of this fiscal year. Bethany Senator David Klindt is sponsoring a bill authorizing bonds to be issued for 350-Million. But he says it should not all be spent at once. Democrats want more but their leader in the State Senate says $100-Million is better than nothing. But he’s still not happy with the Republican position and says the Governor will have to cut public school funding because the Republicans won’t allow more bond money.
