Legislation introduced in both the House and Senate aims to help the state’s small businesses. Senator Anita Yeckel, sponsor of the Senate bill, says regulations are standing in the way of small businesses and their ability to function. The Small Business Regulatory Fairness Board would be created within the Department of Economic Development. It would provide state agencies with input on proposed small business rules, consider requests from small business owners for review of agency rules, and make recommendatioons to state agencies and the General Assembly regarding the need for a rule or legislation.
