Forty-nine bridges crossing the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers will be inspected after problems cropped up on a bridge in Kansas City and one leading into St. Louis. State Tranportation Department Director of Operations Don Hillis says he expects no problems with any of the bridges, but he denies this is being done for public image. Hillis says bridges are required to be inspected at least every two years, and he says a good number get a look annually. He expects the process to take two to three months.
