Holden Reportedly Ready To Fill DSS Vacancy

February 4, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Bob Holden is reportedly ready to appoint a new director of the state’s biggest agency – the Department of Social Services. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports his choice is the former head of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City – Steve Roling. Roling would replace Kathy Martin, who quit a month ago as investigations intensified into her agency’s handling of the child welfare programs – including foster care.
