Whiteman AFB And The Stealth Bomber Prepared For Call To Duty

February 3, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

It’s known as the stealth bomber. The B-2, flying exclusively out of Whiteman Air Force Base in West Central Missouri, is capable of flying missions of nearly two full days in length halfway around the world and dropping bombs exactly on target. While there are only two pilots on board the bat-winged bomber, Whiteman Commander Colonel Doug Raaberg says it takes thousand of men and women back on the ground to get the plane up in the air in the first place. Raaberg says many of his people working on the high-tech systems of the B-2 were possibly just high school kids a year ago and he trusts them implicitly to get the job done right.
