The state has filed suit to force the cleanup of a million-tire dump in Cass County. It’s described in the lawsuit as the biggest tire dump left in the state. But, one of the targets of the suit, Harlan Limpus, says the Attorney General is suing the wrong guy. Limpus says he and his brother leased the land for quarrying and mining purposes only and had nothing to do with the tires. The lawsuit also implicates a Kansas City waste-tire hauling company. The suit does not name the owner of the land. Limpus says any tire dumping was an arrangement between the landowner and the hauling company.
