It’s a three-way affair atop the Missouri Valley Conference standings. The SMS Bears moved into the logjam with Creighton and Southern Illinois thanks to a 65-45 win over Drake at the Hammons Center. They’re 7-1 in conference play and 11-6 overall. The Bears held the Bulldogs to just five points over the final 10:49 to win their fifth straight. Tamarr Maclin scored career high 17 points and pulled 9 rebounds. Monwell Randle had 14 points but left the game with a cut above his eye and never returned. Shelton Colwell injured his right foot during the shoot around and watched the game from the bench. No word on how serious the injury is. The Bears travel to Indiana State on Saturday.
