The leader of the Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives has paid a visit to Whiteman Air Force Base in West central Missouri, getting an up close and personal look at some of the military personnel and military equipment that could soon be involved in a war with Iraq. During a meeting with reporters, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi said that while she has concerns about the U.S. policy regarding Iraq, she and other Democrats will stand shoulder to shoulder with President Bush if and when he decides to launch military action. She adds, however, there will be discussion of what is taking place in Iraq and questions are bound to be raised. But, she makes it clear, the Democrats will stand behind the President and America’s fighting men and women in the event of conflict.
