The continuing war on terror, a pending war with Iraq, and the possibility of war with North Korea – all issues being addressed by Congress. West Central Missouri Congressman Ike Skelton, the ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, says the nation’s military is dealing with all these issues. And Skelton says he is worried the US does not have enough troops to do all the things that need to be done. Skelton is not pushing for a military draft, however. He says the nation is much better served by the all-volunteer force. Skelton says the military force will become larger if Congress funds it to enhance the quality of life that attracts and retains more people.
