A State Senate committee has been told an anti-spam list could be just the thing spammers want. The committee is looking at Senator Wayne Goode’s bill that would let the Attorney General compile an internet version of the state no-call law that limits telemketer calls. But a critic says somebody could buy the list of people who don’t want junk e-mails and send it overseas to a spammer outside Missouri or United States jurisdiction. Goode doesn’t think that kind of operation could get past Missouri’s law. A Senate committee will consider changing Goode’s bill. He says that’s fine. He just wants to pass something that works.
