A coalition of Kansas City ministers, community activists, and social workers is petitioning Governor Holden to stop executions. The group wants the Governor to set up a commission to study Missouri’s death penalty system. The coalition is trying to circulate one-thousand petitions in the Kansas City area. Missouri has executed 59 men since the death penalty was reinstated in 1989.
