Clemons Reinstated

January 21, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

In an afternoon press release, the University of Missouri’s Athletic Department announced that suspended guard Ricky Clemons was reinstated. Clemons was accused of assaulting a 20-year old woman in his Columbia apartment last week. Clemons turned himself into police on Friday, but denies the charge. He was suspended from Saturday’s game against Oklahoma St. Athletic Director Mike Alden and head coach Quin Snyder both indicated that they would let the judicial system decide Clemons’ guilt or innocence. Clemons will have an arraignment hearing on January 29. In 2001 Clemons had a similar accusation made against him by a 19-year old woman. The charges were later dropped. Mizzou faces Iowa State in their third conference game of the year tonight. The Tigers, after two losses last week dropped from 11 to 20 in the coaches poll, and to 21 in the AP.
