St. Louis grabbed a 5-3 win over the Hurricanes, despite a shaky third period from their goalie. Brent Johnson allowed all three Carolina goals in a span of 7:29 in the third. Luckily, for the Blues, they built a 4-0 lead before Johnson’s problems began. Scott Mellanby had two goals, upping his season total to 17, which is tied for the team lead. Eric Bogunieckie ended an 11-game drought with a 3rd period goal. The Blues now lead Detroit by a point in the Central.
