Missouri Among Nation’s Leaders In Cops Killed On Duty

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund says only four states has more peace officers killed in the line of duty last year than Missouri did. Missouri had six. Texas led the nation with 14. South Carolina, California, and North Carolina had 9,8, and 7 respectively. The list includes a prison guard who died of a heart attack after being assaulted while he was trying to break up a fight, two deputy sheriffs, a highway patrolman, and two community poice officers.
