Elderly Joyrider Gets Five Years

January 18, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

The elderly man who robbed a bank in Harrisonville, used the money to buy a recreational vehicle, and took a joyride that ended in his arrest in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has been sentenced to five years in prison. 75-year-old George Curtis turned remorseful in federal court in Kansas City during his sentencing, apologizing for the hardship he had put his family through. Curtis pleaded guilty in September to robbing the Winterset State Bank in Harrisonville of a $200,000 cashier’s check.
