Governor Set To Deliver State Of The State Address

January 15, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

The speculation ends later this morning as Governor Bob Holden delivers his State of the State Address containing his budget proposals. Holden says he’ll do what’s necessary to deal with what he says is a one-billion dollar shortfall. But, he insists he’ll keep an open mind in dealing with the situation. It’s not clear whether that might mean new taxes will be called for. Holden is promising to keep education as his top priority. He says funding levels must be maintained or the state will suffer even more economically.
