The Missouri Tigers have shot under 40% twice this season. In both games their opponents wore orange and blue. Both were losses. The Tigers dropped to 10-2 with a 76-69 defeat at the hands of the Syracuse Orangemen. Mizzou’s only lead in the game came in the first half and lasted just :57 seconds. The rest of the evening was a failed attempt at playing catch-up. Mizzou held freshman Carmelo Anthony to a season low 16 points, but other players stepped up. Hakim Warrick, who scored 26, was one of five Orangemen to finish in double figures. Ricky Clemons paced the Tigers with 26 but was just 9-20 from the field. The team shot 38%. MU’s biggest problem was their inability to hold on to the ball, committing a season high 20 turnovers. Before the game, the Tigers moved up to #11 while Syracuse cracked the AP poll at 25. Mizzou returns to Big 12 play on Saturday against at Oklahoma State.
