Missourians have taken home some of the hardware from the American Music Awards show. Eminem – Marshall Mathers of St. Joseph – has won all four of the awards for which he was nominated: Pop-rock male artist of the year; soul-rhythm and blues artist of the year; and best album in both categories. He didn’t show up for the show. But Kennett native Sheryl Crow did show up, wearing a shirt reading “War is not the answer,” and urging the audience to get involved in the peace movement. Crow won award as the female artist of the year in pop-rock. And Nelly, from St.Louis, won the New Music award in the Latin music category.
