A fugitive for the last eleven days has been recaptured in Springfield after crashing his car into a police car in an effort to get away again. Police have Larry Drew Jacques in the Greene County Jail. He broke out of a van taking him to prison on December 18th. Police say they staked out his girlfriend’s house until he showed up. In trying to escape down an alley, Jacques drove his car head-on into a police car. Neither he nor the policeman in the other car was hurt. Jacques, who has a criminal record that goes back almost 20 years, was being taken to prison for a parole violation when he got away on December 18th.
