Today marks the beginning of one of the busiest shopping times all year – the after-Christmas sales period. David Overfelt, President of the Missouri Retailers Association, says it can be as big or even bigger a sales period than the day after Thanskgiving – traditionally the busiest day of the year in stores. And, Overfelt says car retailers are hoping to get some cars off their lots before the end of the year. Overfelt hopes any buying frenzy that might be generated today for retailers in the state carries over into the January clearance sales.
