Holiday Tourney’s Begin Today

If there isn’t a holiday basketball tournament in your town today, chances are you won’t have to drive too far to find one. Fifteen tourneys get underway today across the state. 64 of the 176 teams competing are at two venues. The William Jewell Tournament in Liberty and the Blue and Gold Tournament in Springfield are hosting 32 teams apiece. The William Jewell has three eight-team tournaments, and the Blue and Gold, has two 16-team tournaments. The Blue and gold is in its 57th year. The Holiday Tournament in Cape Girardeau is in its 58th year. Other tournaments sites include, Jeff City, Poplar Bluff, Imperial, St. Josephs, Bloomfield, St. Louis, Park Hills, and Rolla. There are also a handful of girl’s tournaments as well.
