A bankrupt clothing maker in southwest Missouri has won a $38-Million lawsuit against Land’s End, one of the nation’s best-known closing retailers. A federal jury says Land’s End defrauded Hagale Industries because it did not notify Hagale in a timely manner that it was moving its business to overseas manufacturers. Hagale at one time had 11 factories employing 1,700 people. It shut everything down after losing the Land’s End business and declared bankruptcy. Land’s End, which is now part of Sears, is thinking about whether to appeal the ruling.
