Federal Highway Agency Places Missouri Near Top In Country In Drunk Driving Deaths

December 19, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says Missouri is 15th in the nation in drunk driving deaths, although a person’s chances of dying at the hands of a drunk driver are at their lowest in 20 years. The agency says Missouri averages about four DWI-related traffic deaths for every 500 million vehicle miles driven, its lowest rate since 1982. But we’re still above the national average, which is about three deaths for each half-billion vehicle miles driven.
