A 37-year-old prisoner at the Jefferson City Prison has died, apparently of natural causes. The State Department of Corrections has issued a short release stating that Jerry Taylor died at the University of Missouri hospital this morning. Taylor was serving a 7 year prison sentence for burglary and stealing from Oregon, Crawford and Carter Counties which began in 1999. An autopsy will be performed. The Department says Taylor died of apparent natural causes after a short illness.
