More Layoffs Could Be Ahead for Sprint

December 13, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

A financial analyst who watches communications industry developments in Kansas City thinks Sprint will lay off even more people after the first of the year. Sprint has announced another thousand workers will lose their jobs within weeks. The Vice President of Investments for U-S Bank in Kansas City, Chad Davis, sees signs that Sprint is gone past the stage of trimming fat and is now cutting into the meat of the company. Five-thousand Sprint employees have lost jobs in the Kansas City area in the last year. Davis thinks there might be another round of layoffs next year.
