The Cardinals re-signed free agent pitcher Chuck Finley to a one-year contract. He was 7-4 with a 3.80 ERA in 14 starts with St. Louis. He came to the Cardinals from Cleveland in July. The Cards also picked up pitcher Chris Carpenter from Toronto. He was 4-5 last season, making three trips to the DL.
