Warner Done For Season, Questions For 2003 Arise

December 12, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Kurt Warner’s season is over. The Rams will put their oft-injured quarterback on injured reserve today, which means he won’t play again in 2002. With no chance of making the playoffs, many believed Warner shouldn’t play anyway. This ends a so-called quarterback controversy for this season, but head coach Mike Martz said yesterday that the job could be open in 2003. Martz didn’t come right out and say the job will be up for grabs, but he suggested that nothing is written in stone. The head coach told reporters “you can’t ignore that kind of success”, referring to Marc Bulger’s 5-0 record as a starter. Martz also said he doesn’t see any reason to “speculate on who’s going to do what”. Bulger will start on Sunday against the Cardinals.
